Just Another Scarf & Mitts

I was visiting my mom the end of June...she hasn't knitted in years and wanted a project to work on that she could pick up and go without a lot of brain work. A scarf...very easy. 16" x 72". When I came home from the visit I decided to go and get some scrappy worsed yarn and knit it along with her - compare notes, that kind of thing. Well I finished my scarf a couple of weeks after that and she still has only 8" into hers...I used the left overs and made mitts.
